HPE gives most parts two numbers. One ends in -B21 and one ends in -001. They are not two names for the same thing, and that is what trips people up.
What -B21 means
-B21 is the option number. It is what HPE sells a kit under, and it is the number you see on a price list and in HPE’s QuickSpecs. The DL380 Gen10 QuickSpecs list the 16GB memory kit as P00920-B21, for example.
What -001 means
-001 is the spare part number. Each option holds one or more spare parts, and each spare has its own -001 number. If you are holding a part, the -001 number is the one that identifies it.
Some kits hold several spares. Some options map to more than one spare number. That is why we check both before we quote.

One kit, three spares
The Xeon Gold 6254 kit is the busy one. It holds three spares: the processor, a high performance heat sink and a standard fan module. If you only need the heat sink or only the fan, ask for that -001 number. You do not need the whole kit.

One option, two spares
P06033-B21 goes the other way. HPE lists two spare numbers for this 32GB DDR4-3200 kit: P21674-001 and P68070-001. Both are described as 32GB PC4-3200AA-R 2Gx4 DIMMs, so holding either one means holding the same kind of module.
815098-B21 is the simple case. One option, one spare: 850880-001.
Starting from a part in your hand
If the failed module is the only thing you have, start with its -001 number. HPE’s records show P21674-001 used in 91 HPE products, including the 32GB memory kits and a range of DL360 and DL380 Gen10 Plus configurations. P68070-001 has a shorter list of 6 records, again including the 32GB memory kits. 850880-001 is a 16GB PC4-2666V-R module used in more than 200 HPE products.
What to send us
Send us the part numbers you need, whether they end in -B21 or -001, and the server model they go into, such as a DL380 Gen10. A list is fine.
A -001 number leads us to the option that contains it. A -B21 number leads us to the spares inside it. We confirm the result against the server model before the quote goes out.
